WELCOME

Hello Teachers! Welcome to the BTST Services School-Based Therapy Program. We are here to promote a healthy and safe environment within the school. This letter provides insight into our program, BTST, and introduces key people you may encounter. Our goal is to make this process seamless and provide you with a resource for quick answers. We look forward to working with you.

Overview of BTST

BTST Services was founded in 2008. Back then, it was better known as the BTST mentoring services and the company solely focused on providing Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program services (PRP) which is more commonly known as therapeutic mentoring (the fun activities) for children and adults with a mental health diagnosis. Since then, BTST services has grown exponentially with a mission to support the growth.

BTST's mission is to become the leader and trailblazer in the health, mental health, and social work fields, by continuing to research develop programming and train tomorrows elite health care professionals to provide the best services to individuals, family, and communities.

One of the ways BTST Services achieves this mission statement is by having contracts with schools. These contracts allow our organization to place school-based therapists in schools either full-time or part-time depending on the school's need.

Overview of the School Based Program

Our model involves connecting the student with both a school-based therapist and a community-based therapist. The school-based therapist will provide biweekly or weekly (based on the need of the student) brief individual counseling and group sessions.

They will also serve as a resource for the school by attending family nights, hosting parent groups, and conducting teacher trainings.

The community-based therapist will meet with the student weekly to continue working with the student outside of school and will host family therapy sessions to address environmental factors impacting the student.

Additionally, we connect the student to our PRP, which includes therapeutic mentoring to reinforce the skills learned in therapy.

Lastly, we offer medication management services.
All clients will meet with our psychiatrist for an evaluation to determine if there is a need for medication. It is entirely up to the parent/guardian to decide if they would like the student to be on medication.

How does this work?

How can we sign up?

The great thing about this program is that there are absolutely no costs associated with enrolling your child. To be eligible, all you need is Maryland Medicaid.

We will meet you where you are, whether that's
at home, in school, or online. Our team includes hundreds of specialized therapists trained to treat ADHD, PTSD, depression, and much more.
